Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

General Questions

1.What is MoxMe!?

MoxMe! is a web-based application designed to support group communications across all sorts of devices and appliances, for the purpose of simplifying alerting and notifications among people, teams, and communities of interest. MoxMe!'s goal is to be an open, private interface network, making its subscribers accessible to any outside entity wishing to communicate with them.

2.Why do people use MoxMe!?

MoxMe!'s subscribers take part in MoxMe! because it is one single place where they can maintain all of their communications preferences, and have those preferences accessed by outside parties who are authenticated by MoxMe! as valid originators of alerts and notifications.

3.How does MoxMe! work?

MoxMe! is a web-based application that you can access through your telephone, cellphone, email, instant messaging program, browser, and even your TV. You join groups in MoxMe!, and you can create your own groups. You send messages -- called Alerts in MoxMe! -- to everyone based on their MoxMe! ID. You don't need to know their individual communications preferences -- just send them a message, and MoxMe! looks up their communications preferences based on the alert priority level, and sends the MoxMe! Alert on its way.

4.What's a MoxMe! Alert?

An alert is defined as any message that is bound for a specific party (or parties in a group). This is also generically called a notification, and MoxMe! does not differentiate between the two. This message can be in any format, including text, audio, video, image, or other form of communication.

5.What's an Alert Priority Level?

Each message has a priority level assigned to it: Emergency, Urgent, Important, Normal, and Bulk. The sender of the message will choose this priority level, and will interpret their message's importance based on their own relationship with the target recipients.

6.Won't I get innundated with alerts?

MoxMe! was designed to be able to alert users to only those items they need to be alerted about. Schools often have one master alerting system, not one for each group, and so parents of school children get a lot of messages not intended for them. MoxMe! allows everyone to have their own group, and to take part in their groups as they would like, and not have to get anything not intended for them.

7.Is MoxMe! safe and secure?

Only registered members can send messages to other members, and MoxMe! tracks all communications and watches for spamming and other safety issues. Minors have to get permission from their parents to join, and have extra protection in the system. Other computer and messaging systems can send messages to MoxMe! subscribers. Any system wishing to send MoxMe! members a message must first be granted a Developer's Key, and then also must create a Developer's profile and ask members to join their network. Only valid applications will be granted a Key. MoxMe! therefore is somewhat protected from spam and other concerns due to this gating. MoxMe! can also protect, to the degree possible using today's technologies, members from malware that is resident in messages by sending all their alerting and notifications through one gateway where they can be filtered for malware.

8.Can messages be sent to others if I am not around?

MoxMe! allows users to have secondary contacts, such as significant others, grandparents, friends, that might be the recipient of follow-on messages should they not be available. Parents may be out of town and want to redirect communications temporarily, or users may want to have a cascading messaging tree in emergencies. Alarm companies may want to alert to the next contact on list' if primary alternate contact is not around. In general, the ability to provide a cascading tree of communications contacts answers the question, What do you want to do if there is an important message and we cannot get in touch with you.

9.How do I know you will support my instant messaging or other programs?

MoxMe! is packed with communications capabilities. It can talk to the following systems at a minimum:
  • AIM
  • MSN
  • Yahoo!
  • ICQ
  • Google Talk
  • Jabber

10.Can MoxMe! interface with my calendar to alert me to events?

Scheduling and calendars are a key element of the MoxMe! interface. Calendars are meant to be shared and alerted upon as a core component of MoxMe!. For any event on a calendar, alert settings can dictate how often and under what priority level notices and alerts are sent out regarding this event.

11.How much does MoxMe! cost?

MoxMe! is presently in beta and as such carries no cost. It is anticipated at some point in the future a nominal participation fee will be charged, but we're a ways away from that. For now, sit back and enjoy the functionality, and help us build out the system.

Note: While MoxMe! does not charge for its search and alert services, your mobile carrier may charge fees for text or data usage when using SMS/text messaging. If you do not know what sort of plan you are on, call your carrier and ask.

12.What is allowed in username?

The following are allowed in the username:
1) alphabets (a-z)
2) numbers (0-9)
3) underscores (_)
4) dashes (-)
5) dots (.)
And it should start with an alphabet.

MoxMe! Contacts Questions

13.Can I access my contact data in more than one place?

Yes. MoxMe!'s SuperGroups platform synchronizes your contact data across multiple platforms, allowing you to see your most current contact data on your Android, Blackberry or iOS-equipped device, on your desktop in your favorite programs like Outlook, and in Google and Facebook too. Now you can update someone's number in one place, and it will update in all the places you need to see it!

14.Does everyone in town have to use MoxMe! for it to work?

No. You can get a lot of value out of MoxMe! even if you keep it limited to your family, friends, sports teams members, customers, etc. That having been said, we've found that as more and more groups join, there's a exponential value that results as more and more people can communicate and collaborate easier. We urge any community looking at implementing MoxMe! on the town-wide level to include the town hall, community center, schools, and other fixed place organizations to take part -- these will anchor your application and ensure it's success.

15.Does this work with Microsoft Outlook? IBM Lotus Notes? Google?

Yes, Yes, and Yes. MoxMe!'s synchronization engine was designed to synchronize with each of these platforms.

16.Does this work with my mobile phone? iOS4? Android? Blackberry?

Yes, Yes, Yes, and Yes. MoxMe!'s synchronization engine was designed to synchronize with each of these platforms.

17.If a contact changes in MoxMe! will it automatically change in my address book?

In concept, yes. In practice, it depends on how you configure your synchronization as you control what gets synched and how. Most people want to have one master database against which all the synchronizations occur to avoid duplicates and missing data. As a result, we default configure the system to be this way. As such, if you make a change in one part of your contact synch ecosystem, say on your mobile phone, it will work its way through to the other contacts repositories in your ecosystem -- like your Google account or your Outlook database.

18.Is there a charge for this service?

MoxMe! endeavors to make its basic and most popular offerings available for free. Fee-based offerings are premium services that offer a value added extension of the basic services; these premium services are optional. Feel free to use the free services as much as you would like. Our biggest cost is communications expense, and all our packages ask that you buy communications credits should you be using services that we have hard costs on, like SMS/Text Messaging, Voice Broadcasting, and Push Notifications. We don't charge for email, so if you are OK with getting email alerts, you won't incur any communications expense. We know times are tight, particularly in the education and municipality space. MoxMe! is justifying its services in light of the tremendous time and cost savings of implementing our services, and we think that there's value in that. Check out the Pricing tab of this website for more information on our Pricing. We think it's the best deal in town!

19.Is this two-way? Can I change contacts on my mobile phone and they will flow through to my group?

If you have a "smart phone" like an Android OS, Apple iOS, or Blackberry OS based phone -- like Droids, iPhones/iPads/iPods, and Blackberries -- Yes. If you have a "feature phone", it depends and we like to say No to cover ourselves best. In the near future, we believe that all phones will be smart phones and connected to the Internet fulltime. As such, that's what we're designing for. As much as you like your 5-year old flip phone, like analog phones before them, these will go the way of the Dodo and be extinct before long. So, connected smart phones have the ability to exchange information with our servers in real-time and to flow through any changes you make onto the databases and people who need to know. If you have any questions about whether your phone is supported by our synchronization engine, contact MoxMe! Customer Support and ask. We're helpful!

20.What about the privacy of our data? We follow strict guidelines regarding user data?

You control privacy of all your data. Period. Our privacy policies are more stringent and flexible than Facebook's, Google's and mobile phones. All data is presumed private unless you do something to make it less private. You control whether your personal data -- on a whole record or field-by-field level -- is seen by others in your family, your groups, your town, and so on. We consider privacy to be a major issue that we protect for as best we can -- echoing the concerns of our main constituencies -- the towns and schools within them.

21.What contact programs do you support?

MoxMe! is focusing on the main contact programs. There are hundreds of options here, and we're staying close to our consumer roots here and not supporting every business contact application out there -- there are better business services for these instances. MoxMe! supports Google, Yahoo!, Facebook, mobile OS (Android, Apple iOS4, Blackberry), Outlook, Windows, and LinkedIn (soon). If you have a pressing need for a particular contact program, give MoxMe! Customer Service a shout...we probably can support it through a generic interface.

MoxMe! Calendars Questions

22.Can I access my calendar data in more than one place?

Yes. MoxMe!'s SuperGroup(TM) platform synchronizes your calendar data across multiple platforms, allowing you to see your most current calendar data on your Android, Blackberry or iOS-equipped device, on your desktop in your favorite programs like Outlook, and in Google and Facebook too. No more having to call home and ask someone to check the calendar on the refrigerator for important dates!

23.Does my school or organization have to be using MoxMe! for me to set up my group?

No. You can get a lot of value out of MoxMe! even if you keep it limited to your own group of family, friends, sports teams members, customers, etc. You can establish a MoxMe! group for your class, sports team, drama club -- you name it -- without your school being involved.

24.Does this work with Microsoft Outlook? IBM Lotus Notes? Google?

Yes, Yes, and Yes. MoxMe!'s synchronization engine was designed to synchronize with each of these platforms.

25.Does this work with my mobile phone? iOS4? Android? Blackberry?

Yes, Yes, Yes, and Yes. MoxMe!'s synchronization engine was designed to synchronize with each of these platforms.

26.How do you know who is in my family?

For the most part, you tell us. MoxMe! does interface with school databases that might make this information available but there are often errors. Facebook too has a family relationships area, but it is very weak, and most kids pretend they are spouses of others and siblings to yet others, and so it's not reliable at all. MoxMe! has a simple interface for you to enter your information, and we confirm the information with others as they log into the system.

27.If an event changes in MoxMe! will it change my calendar without notifying me?

Only if you set the Settings that way. Most people want changes to flow through to their system automatically, but they also like to get an alert that says so. This is a configurable setting in the Settings area of MoxMe!

29.Is this two-way? Can I change event on my mobile phone and they will flow through to my group?

If you have any questions about whether your phone is supported by our synchronization engine, contact MoxMe! Customer Support and ask. We're helpful!

30.What calendar programs do you support?

In general, most of them, because most calendar programs support one of several baseline calendar data exchange protocols. The most popular calendar programs are supported including Outlook, Google Calendar, Facebook (via MoxMe! application), and mobile phones running the Android, Apple iOS, or Blackberry operating system.

MoxMe! Groups Questions

31.Does my school or organization have to be using MoxMe! for me to set up my group?

No. You can get a lot of value out of MoxMe! even if you keep it limited to your own group of family, friends, sports teams members, customers, etc. You can establish a MoxMe! group for your class, sports team, drama club -- you name it -- without your school being involved.

32.How does this work with Facebook Groups?

Great question. We think that Facebook Groups is a rather limited product right now -- it does not handle hierarchical groups, privacy, ties to private databases, and so on. That having been said, Facebook Groups have a great use if you use them for what they are designed for today. So we here at MoxMe! think of Facebook Groups as the public face of your group, and MoxMe! for Facebook as the private face of your groups. They work together, sharing information, posting what's destined to be public and private in their respective areas. Ying/Yang. Facebook is still refining its Groups offering and we're keeping pace. For now, we're just starting to test the relationship between the two areas but this year you should see it blossom into a nice beneficial co-existence that plays to the strenths of each.

33.Is this compatible with Google Apps or Microsoft Office 365?

Absolutely. In fact, the Docs area of the site was designed to provide a view of your documents inside Facebook. The calendar and contact data is synched to each of these too. We're working with implementers of each approach to refine our solution, but our goal is as much integration as enabled by their respective portals.

34.Is the same functionality available across all different social networks?

No. Social networks are different. While we synchronize data across social networks, desktop software and mobile devices, the data formats, system capabilities and storage available differs from device to device. We attempt to map a common layer of functionality across the platforms where possible, with the intent of offering as consistent and uniform an experience as possible. However, some functionality cannot be controlled in some instances because the target systems just don't make the information and controls available to us (yet). We're adjusting our system as new features are announced, but for the most part, the vast majority of features translate well. A calendar in one system, is for the most part, like a calendar in another system.

35.Is there a charge for this service?

MoxMe! endeavors to make its basic and most popular offerings available for free. Fee-based offerings are premium services that offer a value added extension of the basic services; these premium services are optional. Feel free to use the free services as much as you would like. 36.What can you do in a group? What applications are available to the group?

Lots. Each group can be classified by the type of group it is, eg, School Course. Once that decision is made, a default set of applications modules are suggested for that group -- you can add some and remove some as you wish. So for School Course Groups, for instance, classes have Study Hall, Study Group, School Calendar, Announcements, Assignments, and other simiilar applications geared for that group. In the future, MoxMe! is preparing developer access to enable third parties to program to the MoxMe! environment. Our goal is to enable any Facebook app to likewise be accessible in MoxMe!, provided of course that the groups want and allow each application into their group.

MoxMe! Social Alerts Questions

37.Can I get contacted using more than one communications mechanism?

Yes. You can configure MoxMe! to simultaneously reach you across a number of different devices and services, in case your cell phone is turned off and you want to make sure you get that cancellation notice for today's practice. So you could tell the system to send you an email, IM and Text Message for instance for messages classified with higher level priorities, like "Urgent".

38.Does everyone in town have to use MoxMe! for it to work?

39.Do you archive group messages so new members can see them?

Yes. That's one of the neat things about MoxMe! You can join a group late and catch up on all the schedules, instructions, permissions forms and other things that are often handed out, say, at the beginning of a season. Group Admin can delete any old messages that no longer apply.

40.Is there a charge for this service?

MoxMe! endeavors to make its basic and most popular offerings available for free. 41.Is this two-way? Can I reply to messages sent to me?

Bi-directional communications is a function of the communications type and the type of device you are receiving the message on. For the most part, MoxMe! endeavors to try to create a two-way environment in its communications, but with some communications means, it is just too kludgey to be useful. For instance a user getting a text message from a group and wanting to respond back will have to endure the latency of multiple stages back and forth with the servers to determine which group, what the message is, and so on. This is because each user does not have their own address for each group -- this would be prohibitively expensive. With the advent of Push Notifications and applications based on your mobile phones, we can do a better job of handing two-way SMS/Text Messaging applications with two-way Push Notifications that look the same to the user, but because it's over a computer network and not a messaging network, we have a lot more flexibility. The messages themselves will usually tell you if you can reply. When in doubt, assume you cannot reply. Note that MoxMe! really wants to create a bi-directional relationship with its users. Where we are constrained by current technologies, we're working on new approaches to allow for full two-way features across all supported communications means. We're just not there yet.

42.What communications mechanisms do you support?

Lots. MoxMe! supports SMS/Text Messaging, Instant Messaging (like AOL IM, MSN), Real-time Chat (eg, Facebook), email, and voice broadcast, for starters. We're working on several other options including Push Notifications which take advantage of smart mobile phone access to the Internet for communications. Other communications options are also in development. We're confident we've got you covered here!

43.What happens to our phone tree?

It goes away. Phone trees are archaic. They are not needed. If you want to call everyone on the phone, use our Voice Broadcast option. But why not use all our communications options and let user pick how they want to get the messages? Either way, phone trees are not needed anymore. Yeah!

44.How do 'Communications Priorities' work in MoxMe! Who determines if a message is an emergency message or not?

MoxMe! allows users to determine how they wish to be contacted under different types of message priorities. Certainly, under an emergency, you'd want to be found no matter what -- so you'd probably select to have messages sent to SMS/Text Messaging, IM, email, voice broadcast....the works -- it's an emergency after all. Normal rote messages you might just say, "Send me an email" and leave it at that. MoxMe! supports five types of priorities: emergency, urgent, important, normal and bulk delivery (digest). The sender determines the priority of a message.

MoxMe! for Facebook Questions

45.Can I limit participation in my SuperGroup(TM) to specific people?

Yes. You are creating a private operating area within Facebook, and so you can close this off to only those people allowed in. You can upload an approved users list that new registrations validate against, and you can also manually approve each member into the listing. You can also automatically approve anyone with a specific validated domain in their email address.

46.Does my school or organization have to be using MoxMe! for me to set up my group?

No. You can get a lot of value out of MoxMe! even if you keep it limited to your own group of family, friends, sports teams members, customers, etc. You can establish a MoxMe! group for your class, sports team, drama club -- you name it -- without your school being involved.

47.How does MoxMe! work with our website?

The honest answer is "It depends". MoxMe! has a number of ways that website can quickly and easily take advantage of our functionality. Even added a Google calendar to a site? MoxMe! plugs in just as easily. However, some websites are very closed environments, especially if you purchase a pre-packaged solution off the web. The best thing to do is email MoxMe! Customer Support. Tell them as much as you know: Your website URL, your vendor if you have one, your software you use to maintain the site, etc. They can walk you through the process.

48.How does this work with Facebook Groups?

51.Suppose Facebook "goes down" ... what options do we have?

MoxMe! has replicated the functionality of MoxMe! for Facebook in standalone portals, so you can experience largely the same functionality in each place. This is to protect against any prolonged Facebook outage. It also allows us to use these standalone portals for uses that might not be supported by Facebook, such as use by sub-13 year old students. We can customize experiences pertinent to the age group where necessary. Aside from these other portals, we also have architected the system to enable users to access Facebook content in Google, Outlook, on your mobile phone, and elsewhere.

Schools Questions

52.Can we still block Facebook at school if we use MoxMe! for Facebook?

Yes. MoxMe! for Facebook was designed to support a broad range of access -- including access from networks which block Facebook.com. MoxMe! was architected so that you can configure your router (we tell you how) to allow access to MoxMe! within Facebook.com while still blocking normal access to Facebook's normal interface. So you can focus the kids on the school's own Facebook presence without the distraction of status and Wall updates on students' sites.

53.Can we update our own databases using information from MoxMe! feeds too?

Yes. MoxMe! can update your information as well, should you wish to "turn on" these updates. MoxMe!'s system of feeds were designed to do this if you want; they also can merely read your data and not impact the data in any instance -- your choice. One popular bidirectional activity is maintaining emergency contact information, which changes often. Since MoxMe! is closer to this data on a daily basis, it's a better source for maintaining this information through other means. For more information on this, contact MoxMe! Customer Service.

54.Do we have to have a Zone Information Server for this to work?

No. If your school or town has a ZIS, MoxMe! can interface with it through our SIF interface. If you do not, MoxMe! can either load databases via export from your system, or you can use our soon-to-be-launched hosted ZIS server to handle real-time connections between your databases and our servers. If you don't know what a ZIS is, you probably don't need one so you can relax.

55.Is this compatible with Google Apps or Microsoft Office 365?

Absolutely. In fact, the Docs area of the site was designed to provide a view of your documents inside Facebook. The calendar and contact data is synched to each of these too. We're working with implementers of each approach to refine our solution, but our goal is as much integration as enabled by their respective portals.

56.How does this work with the PowerSchool Parents Portal?

MoxMe! complements PowerSchool, period. PowerSchool is a great platform, and most of our clients use it. Like any software package, PowerSchool had to decide what it was going to focus on and what it was not going to focus on. MoxMe! picks up where PowerSchool leaves off. MoxMe! extends PowerSchool into Facebook and mobile phones. It enhances the roles and responsibilities aspects of PowerSchool making it easy to track Family Relationships and to extend PowerSchool data into other packages that don't interwork with PowerSchool today, like Community Center software. MoxMe! also adds key facilities management and room reservation functionality that many of our clients ask for as part of their calendar applications. And finally, we represent PowerSchool on the website where it does not do so itself. The PowerSchool Parent Portal is a great path into the system to get all sorts of information from the wealth of PowerSchool's databases; we encourage Parents and others to use this.

57.How is the information backed up? How do we avoid losing our data?

MoxMe!'s server farms are designed with backups in mind. We perform regular backups of our databases, and also regular backups of data before major synchronizations to cover for situations where bad data gets propogated through the system somehow. No software vendor can guarantee 100% against data loss -- heck, who's got defenses against alien attacks or meteor strikes. But we think we've done what is reasonable given our architecture and price points in the market. Want to know more? Happy to share -- Contact MoxMe! Customer Support for more details.

60.Can you help our community with video at all?

Yes absolutely. Check out our MoxMe! Live Video streaming solution that was designed to bring whole communities online with an easy, cost-effective model -- that is also fully automated. It's insanely cool, check it out.

61.How does MoxMe! Live Video work with our public access cable channel?

It works great. You can send either live or archived video over your cable channel and manage it like a professional broadcast network with a schedule-based interface and automatic switching. Just select the shows you want to show when, and the system will do the rest. Most cable installations require a MoxMe! Video Network Adapter to bridge the Internet and cable TV networks.

62.What are the legal implications of video in our community?

We are not lawyers, but we've hired them to answer these questions. We have some materials to send to you on request, but the bottom line is this: - For broadcast of public performances in which there are copyrighted works presented, when you license those works you just need to make sure the license includes the public access channel and Internet channels. - For school teaching workspaces, you should work with your teachers' union on guidelines for what constitutes appropriate use and notification of use. This should be an open not covert use of video that is opted into for everyone's protection. There should be visible indicators on the cameras to show when anyone is watching or recording from that camera, to stay clear of any video surveillance laws. - Areas should have a clear notice that public cameras are in use and that these broadcast over the Internet. Many schools and other town locations are already broadcasting over the cable public access channels, and so many of these issues have already been addressed by current policies. Ask MoxMe! Customer Support for more information.

63.Can I watch MoxMe! Live Video on a TV?

Yes, in three cases: 1) you have Internet access and a browser on your TV; 2) you have a Roku adapter on your TV which can play the MoxMe! channel, and 3) you have cable TV and can watch the public access channel. Obviously 1) and 2) will give you a more personalized and satisfactory experience. You can buy a Roku box (www.roku.com) at any Walmart, Amazon.com, or many other locations.

Towns Questions

64.Can we update our own databases using information from MoxMe! feeds too?

Yes. MoxMe! can update your information as well, should you wish to "turn on" these updates.

65.Can we use this at the schools too, since we run the school's IT?

Yes. MoxMe! actually originated out of the school systems, and is designed to complement popular tools like PowerSchool and Blackboard, as well as website run by third party vendors and software. We don't have partnerships with everyone, but our business development team is awfully busy so check with MoxMe! Customer Service if you have a specific question in mind. Note that MoxMe!'s entire value proposition blossoms when more entities in a community use MoxMe! so we encourage all aspects of a Town's ecosystem to join in!

66.Do we have to have a Zone Information Server for this to work?

67.How does this work with the PowerSchool Parents Portal?

MoxMe! complements PowerSchool, period.

68.How is the information backed up? How do we avoid losing our data?

MoxMe!'s server farms are designed with backups in mind. We perform regular backups of our databases, and also regular backups of data before major synchronizations to cover for situations where bad data gets propogated through the system somehow. No software vendor can guarantee 100% against data loss -- heck, who's got defenses against alien attacks or meteor strikes. But we think we've done what is reasonable given our architecture and price points in the market. Want to know more? Happy to share -- Contact MoxMe! Customer Support for more details.

69.Is there a charge for this service?

MoxMe! endeavors to make its basic and most popular offerings available for free.

70.What about the privacy of our data? We follow strict guidelines regarding user data?

You control privacy of all your data. Period. Our privacy policies are more stringent and flexible than Facebook's, Google's and mobile phones. All data is presumed private unless you do something to make it less private. You control whether your personal data -- on a whole record or field-by-field level -- is seen by others in your family, your groups, your town, and so on. We consider privacy to be a major issue that we protect for as best we can -- echoing the concerns of our main constituencies -- the towns and schools within them.

71.Why do this now? Our plate is pretty full!

MoxMe! saves money by decreasing paper, personnel and printing expense, in addition to drastically increasing communications town-wide. Time is money -- For you, for your constituents, for your schools. This is a low/no-cost option that can reap savings starting right now. Of course we're biased, but we think that you can not find many such home-runs to show such progress so quickly.

Families Questions

80.Does everyone in town have to use MoxMe! for it to work?

No. You can get a lot of value out of MoxMe! even if you keep it limited to your family, friends, sports teams members, customers, etc. That having been said, we've found that as more and more groups join, there's a exponential value that results as more and more people can communicate and collaborate easier. Sports Teams Questions

The honest answer is "It depends". MoxMe! has a number of ways that website can quickly and easily take advantage of our functionality. Even added a Google calendar to a site? 96.How does this interface with our business software that we use?

Well that's a loaded question because different organizations have different software. So let's instead talk about how open MoxMe! is. MoxMe! has many different types of ways to access and include its data in your processes -- that is, the data that is allowed to be made available. The vast majority of our databases are private, eyes-only type access, and so where interfaces exist, it's for reporting and exports of data specific to your use. Businesses, for instance, want to download contact information for people who opted into their discount programs or signed up for their events -- these are legitimate uses, and MoxMe! typically supports standard export options (like .xls, .csv, and so on). When in doubt, contact MoxMe! MoxMe! Live Video Questions

107.Does MoxMe! Live Video work with the cameras we have already?

Yes, it should, as long as the cameras you have are either PC-attached, IP cameras, or BNC-outfitted (eg, Panasonic and Sony broadcast cameras). All non-IP cameras or non-PC cameras will require a MoxMe! Network Adapter to bring them onto the Internet.

108.How does MoxMe!

109.What are the legal implications of video in our community?

110.Do you support iPads and iPhones?

Yes, for viewing today and soon for origination too via a video recording app.

111.Can I watch MoxMe!

112.What do you do for roaming, portable video?

Right now, this is on our roadmap as a to-do item. We will be enabling roaming video from a number of hardware sources into our paradigm, but for now, we are working on finalizing the present non-roaming platform for our users. Expect to see a solution here in 1H12 for the roaming video.

113.How much does MoxMe! Live Video cost?

MoxMe! Live Video is exceedingly cost-effective. Cameras cost around $100-$350, depending on the camera you select. Each camera can run in Power-Over-Ethernet mode -- if you want this, this is the cost of an adapter that you can also purchase on your own. Any BNC or Cable TV access requires a MoxMe! Video Network Adapter which costs around $150. Streaming costs are about $1/hour, and archival costs are about $1/hour of video/month. MoxMe! charges $199 for the annual subscription for the Live Video module. Typical installation costs are about $150 if you hire an outside firm (that is, you don't want to do it yourself), and if you have to run Ethernet cable to the location, then that is your normal cabling expense. Remember you can offset any expenses with ads, sponsorships and admissions fees from MoxMe! Live Video's revenue generation capabilities, and turn that cost center in to a revenue center!

114.How can our organization make money on this video?

Great question. With MoxMe! you have embedded capabilities to earn money from ad fees, sponsorships, and even admission fees, for any video. What's more, you can allocate these easily to the groups generating the video -- so the Choir gets the proceeds from people watching the Choir Concert. This functionality is in alpha through 2011 and in beta in early 2012.
